How to Use Insulin Glulisine 100IU

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Usually given a few minutes before a meal or immediately after starting a meal, as prescribed
• Rotate injection sites to avoid skin thickening
• Do not mix with other insulins unless advised by your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• If you miss a dose around meal time, check your blood sugar and contact your doctor for guidance
• Do not take an extra dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store unopened vials/pens in a refrigerator (2-8°C), do not freeze
• Once in use, the pen/vial can usually be kept at room temperature for a limited time as per the manufacturer's instructions

• Mild swelling in hands or feet
• Changes in vision during the first few weeks of treatment

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Severe low blood sugar causing confusion, seizures, or loss of consciousness
• Signs of allergic reaction - rash all over the body, difficulty breathing, swelling of face, lips, or throat
• Low potassium levels causing muscle weakness or irregular heartbeat

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are currently having an episode of low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia)
• Are allergic to insulin glulisine or any of its ingredients
