How to Use Insulin Isophane 100iu/ml

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Inject under the skin (subcutaneously) in the thigh, abdomen, upper arm or buttock as shown by your doctor or nurse
• Use exactly the dose and frequency prescribed; do not change the amount on your own
• Rotate injection sites to avoid skin thickening
• Check blood sugar regularly as advised to monitor how well it is working
• Do not inject into a vein or muscle
• Mix the vial gently by rolling between palms before use, if it is a suspension; do not shake vigorously

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember, but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one

STORAGE

• Store unopened vials/cartridges in a refrigerator (2-8°C); do not freeze

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Severe hypoglycemia with confusion, seizures, or loss of consciousness
• Signs of severe allergic reaction - rash all over body, swelling of face/lips/throat, difficulty breathing
• Very low blood pressure or rapid heartbeat
• Persistent low potassium symptoms like muscle weakness or irregular heartbeat
