WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

  • Bacterial conjunctivitis (infection of the surface of the eye and inner eyelid)
  • Bacterial infections of the cornea, when advised by an eye specialist
  • Prevention of eye infection before or after certain eye surgeries, as directed by the doctor

HOW IT WORKS

  • Moxifloxacin kills bacteria by blocking enzymes they need to copy their genetic material
  • This stops the bacteria from multiplying and helps clear the infection
  • It works against a wide range of bacteria commonly causing eye infections

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

  • It does not treat viral or fungal eye infections
  • It does not relieve allergic eye redness or itching
  • It should not be used for general eye dryness or irritation without a doctor's advice

How to Use Moxifloxacin 0.5% W/V

HOW TO TAKE IT

  • Use only in the eye as advised by your doctor
  • Wash your hands before using the drop
  • Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid, and place the drop inside
  • Avoid touching the dropper tip to your eye or any surface to prevent contamination
  • Close your eye gently for a minute after applying to help the medicine spread
  • If you use other eye drops, wait at least 5-10 minutes between each
  • Do not stop the course early even if symptoms improve, unless told by your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

  • Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember
  • If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
  • Do not apply two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

  • Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat
  • Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use
  • Do not use after the bottle has been opened for more than the period advised on the label
  • Keep out of reach of children
