This medicine is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults who need more than one medicine to control their blood pressure.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Control of high blood pressure
• Long-term management of hypertension when a single medicine is not enough
• Reducing risk of heart and blood vessel complications linked to high blood pressure

HOW IT WORKS

• Olmesartan blocks angiotensin II, a chemical that narrows blood vessels, helping vessels relax and widen
• Cilnidipine blocks calcium channels in blood vessel walls and reduces overactivity of the sympathetic nervous system, lowering blood pressure further
• Together they give better blood pressure control than either medicine alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for immediate relief of a sudden severe rise in blood pressure (hypertensive emergency)
• Not a treatment for chest pain (angina) as a first-line therapy
• Not used for kidney or heart failure treatment on its own
• Not meant for use in pregnancy or by children

How to Use Olmesartan Medoxomil 20 mg + Cilnidipine 10 mg

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water
• Can be taken with or without food, but try to take it at the same time every day
• Do not crush or chew unless your doctor tells you to
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as blood pressure control needs continued treatment
• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Low blood pressure symptoms like light-headedness on standing

• Swelling of face, lips, tongue or throat with difficulty breathing (allergic reaction)
• Severe dizziness or fainting
• Signs of kidney problems such as reduced urine output or swelling
• Severe diarrhoea with significant weight loss (rare intestinal condition linked to olmesartan)
• Yellowing of skin or eyes (liver problems)
• Very slow or irregular heartbeat

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
