WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Allergic conjunctivitis (itchy, red, watery eyes due to allergy)
- Allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny or blocked nose due to allergy)
- Relief of eye itching caused by seasonal or environmental allergens
HOW IT WORKS
- It blocks histamine, a chemical released by the body during an allergic reaction
- It also stabilises mast cells, reducing further release of allergy-causing chemicals
- This reduces itching, redness, swelling and watering caused by allergies
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It does not treat bacterial or viral eye infections
- It does not treat glaucoma or other structural eye conditions
- It is not a cure for allergies, only relieves symptoms
- It should not be used for general pain or non-allergic irritation
How to Use Olopatadine 5mg.
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Use exactly as prescribed by your doctor, in the eye, nose, or by mouth depending on the form given
- For eye drops, wash hands, tilt head back, and place the drop inside the lower eyelid without touching the dropper tip to the eye
- For nasal spray, blow your nose gently before use and follow the device instructions
- Do not increase the dose or frequency without consulting your doctor
- Wait before wearing contact lenses if using eye drops, as advised by your doctor
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Use it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
- Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use
- Do not use eye or nasal solutions that have changed colour or become cloudy
