WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
• Peptic ulcers (stomach and duodenal)
• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
• In combination with antibiotics to treat H. pylori infection

HOW IT WORKS

• Rabeprazole works by blocking the enzyme in the stomach wall that produces acid, thereby reducing the amount of acid in the stomach
• This helps in healing acid-related damage to the stomach and esophagus, and relieves symptoms like heartburn and regurgitation

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not used for immediate relief of heartburn symptoms (it is not an antacid)
• It is not effective for conditions unrelated to stomach acid, such as general indigestion caused by overeating

How to Use Rabeprazole

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily before a meal
• Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush or chew it
