WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- To reduce the chances of recurrent hepatic encephalopathy in people with advanced liver disease

HOW IT WORKS
- It stays mostly inside the gut and is barely absorbed into the blood

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not used for viral infections like cold or flu

How to Use Rifaximin 550mg
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, in the dose and duration advised
- It can usually be taken with or without food, unless your doctor says otherwise
- Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless instructed
- Complete the full course even if you start feeling better
- Do not use it for longer than prescribed without medical advice
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children
