This combination medicine is used mainly to treat high cholesterol and related lipid disorders, and to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in people with high cardiovascular risk.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Lowering high LDL (bad) cholesterol
• Lowering triglycerides
• Raising HDL (good) cholesterol in some cases
• Reducing risk of heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular events in high-risk patients
• Used along with diet control when cholesterol is not managed by lifestyle changes alone

HOW IT WORKS

• Rosuvastatin reduces cholesterol production in the liver
• Ezetimibe reduces absorption of cholesterol from the food we eat in the intestine
• Together they lower cholesterol through two different pathways, giving stronger control than either alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for weight loss

How to Use Rosuvastatin 40mg + Ezetimibe 10mg

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Can be taken with or without food, but try to take it at the same time each day, often in the evening
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless your doctor says so
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as cholesterol control needs continuous treatment

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue as usual

• Severe unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness (possible muscle breakdown)
• Dark coloured urine
• Yellowing of skin or eyes, severe stomach pain (possible liver problem)
• Severe allergic reaction such as swelling of face/lips/throat, difficulty breathing
• Unusual bleeding or bruising
• Signs of pancreas problem such as severe abdominal pain with vomiting

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
