WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

  • Ringworm (tinea infections) of the body, groin, and feet
  • Athlete's foot (tinea pedis)
  • Jock itch (tinea cruris)
  • Certain yeast infections of the skin caused by Candida
  • Pityriasis versicolor (a fungal skin condition causing patches of discoloured skin)

HOW IT WORKS

  • It belongs to a class of medicines called imidazole antifungals
  • It damages the outer covering (cell membrane) of the fungus
  • This stops the fungus from growing and eventually kills it
  • This relieves symptoms like itching, redness, and scaling

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

  • It is not used for bacterial skin infections

How to Use Sertaconazole (2% w/w)

HOW TO TAKE IT

  • For external use on the skin only
  • Wash and dry the affected area before applying
  • Apply a thin layer over the affected skin and surrounding area as advised by your doctor
  • Usually applied twice a day, or as prescribed
  • Wash your hands after applying, unless the hands are being treated
  • Continue using for the full duration advised by your doctor, even if symptoms improve early
  • Do not apply on broken skin, open wounds, or near the eyes and mouth

  • If it is almost time for your next application, skip the missed one
  • Do not apply extra to make up for a missed dose

STORAGE

  • Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
