HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks the effect of the hormone oestrogen on breast tissue
• Many breast cancers need oestrogen to grow, so blocking it slows or stops cancer cell growth
• It does not lower the amount of oestrogen in the body, it blocks its action at the cancer cell level

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not used for hormone receptor-negative breast cancer
• It is not a painkiller or general cancer cure for all cancer types
• It is not used for routine hormonal imbalance or menopause symptoms

How to Use Tamoxifen 20mg

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Take it at the same time every day to build a routine
• Continue for the full duration advised by your doctor, even if you feel well
• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose

• Severe allergic reaction such as facial swelling, difficulty breathing, severe rash
