This medicine is prescribed for conditions where pressure inside the eye is higher than normal, which can damage the optic nerve over time if untreated.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• To reduce raised pressure inside the eye (intraocular pressure)
• To treat open-angle glaucoma
• To treat ocular hypertension

HOW IT WORKS

• It increases the outflow of fluid (aqueous humour) from inside the eye
• This reduces the pressure built up inside the eye
• Lowering eye pressure helps protect the optic nerve from further damage

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not used to treat eye infections
• It is not used to treat eye redness caused by allergies
• It is not a painkiller and does not treat eye injuries
• It does not cure glaucoma, it only controls eye pressure

How to Use Travoprost 0.004% W/V

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Use only in the eye(s) as advised by your doctor, usually once daily in the evening
• Wash your hands before using the drop
• Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid, and place one drop inside
• Avoid letting the dropper tip touch your eye or any surface
• If using other eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes between different drops
• Remove contact lenses before use and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Apply it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not use two drops together to make up for a missed dose

STORAGE

• Store as per the instructions on the pack, usually below 25°C
• Keep away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use
• Discard the bottle after the period mentioned on the label once opened
• Keep out of reach of children

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Eye redness
• Mild eye irritation or stinging
• Blurred vision immediately after applying the drop
• Itching in the eye
• Gradual darkening of the iris colour
• Growth of eyelashes (longer, thicker, darker)

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Dry eyes
• Eye pain or discomfort
• Sensitivity to light
• Watering of the eyes
• Darkening of the skin around the eyelid

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Severe eye pain or sudden vision changes
• Signs of eye infection like discharge, swelling, or severe redness
• Swelling of the eyelids or face
• Difficulty breathing or signs of an allergic reaction

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to travoprost or any other ingredient in the drop

• Wear contact lenses
• Have inflammation inside the eye (uveitis) or a history of it
