Vildagliptin 100mg — Uses and Benefits
Vildagliptin is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus, often along with diet and exercise or other diabetes medicines.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Controlling high blood sugar in type 2 diabetes
- Used alone or in combination with other anti-diabetic medicines like metformin or sulfonylureas
- Used as part of a long-term diabetes management plan
HOW IT WORKS
- It blocks an enzyme called DPP-4
- This increases levels of natural hormones called incretins
- Incretins help the pancreas release more insulin after meals
- It also reduces the amount of sugar released by the liver
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for type 1 diabetes
- Not used to treat diabetic ketoacidosis

How to Use Vildagliptin 100mg
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor

- Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, unless your doctor tells you to stop

- Skin blistering or peeling
