This composition is mainly used to treat high blood pressure and to reduce the risk of heart-related problems in people at cardiovascular risk.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treating high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Reducing risk of heart attack, stroke, or death in people with heart disease or high cardiovascular risk who cannot take ACE inhibitors
• Sometimes used to protect kidneys in people with diabetes, under medical supervision

HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks the action of a natural chemical called angiotensin II
• This chemical normally tightens blood vessels, raising blood pressure
• By blocking it, blood vessels relax and widen, lowering blood pressure and easing strain on the heart

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for treating sudden chest pain or heart attack
• Not a painkiller or fever medicine
• Not meant for immediate emergency lowering of blood pressure
• Not to be used during pregnancy for any purpose

How to Use Weltelmi 40mg

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water
• Try to take it at the same time each day to maintain steady blood levels
• Do not stop taking it suddenly even if you feel well, unless your doctor advises
• Continue regular blood pressure checks as advised by your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in the original packaging until ready to use
• Keep out of reach of children and pets

• Swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat (signs of allergic reaction)
• Difficulty breathing
• Severe dizziness or fainting
• Signs of kidney problems such as reduced urination or swelling in legs
• Yellowing of skin or eyes (possible liver problem)
• Irregular heartbeat or muscle weakness (possible high potassium levels)

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
