Uses and Benefits of CABGOLIN 0.5 TABLET (CABERGOLINE 0.5MG)
Cabergoline is mainly used to treat conditions caused by high levels of the hormone prolactin in the blood.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treating hyperprolactinaemia (high prolactin levels) due to pituitary tumours or other causes
- Stopping unwanted breast milk production after childbirth or in other situations
- Sometimes used in the management of Parkinson's disease as an add-on therapy
HOW IT WORKS
- Cabergoline acts on dopamine receptors in the brain
- This action reduces the release of prolactin hormone from the pituitary gland
- Lowering prolactin helps restore normal menstrual cycles, fertility, and reduces breast milk formation
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not a painkiller or fever medicine
- It is not used for routine hormonal contraception
- It should not be used without medical supervision for weight loss or bodybuilding purposes
- It is not a first-line treatment for Parkinson's disease alone

How to Use CABGOLIN 0.5 TABLET (CABERGOLINE 0.5MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once or twice a week
- Take with food to reduce stomach upset
- Swallow the tablet with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Try to take it on the same day(s) each week to keep a routine
- Do not stop or change the dose without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take the missed dose as soon as you remember on the same day
- If it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct heat, sunlight, and moisture
- Keep in the original packaging until ready to use
