Uses and Benefits of INDOCAP-SR CAPSULE (INDOMETHACIN 75MG)
Indomethacin 75mg is commonly used to treat pain and inflammation associated with joint and muscle conditions.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Osteoarthritis
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Acute gout attacks
- Pain and swelling after certain musculoskeletal injuries
HOW IT WORKS
- It blocks enzymes called cyclo-oxygenase (COX) that produce prostaglandins
- Prostaglandins cause pain, swelling, and fever
- By reducing prostaglandin production, it lowers inflammation and eases pain
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not a cure for arthritis; it only controls symptoms
- It is not meant for routine headaches or minor everyday pain
- It is not recommended for long-term use without medical supervision
- It is not used to treat infections

- Black or bloody stools, or vomiting blood (signs of stomach bleeding)
- Severe stomach pain

- Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
- Severe skin reaction with blistering or peeling
- Sudden decrease in urine output or swelling of face/legs
- Signs of allergic reaction like facial swelling, difficulty breathing

How to Use INDOCAP-SR CAPSULE (INDOMETHACIN 75MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with food or milk to reduce stomach upset
- Swallow the capsule/tablet whole; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Do not increase the dose or take it more often than prescribed
- Avoid lying down immediately after taking it
- Do not take with alcohol as it increases stomach irritation risk
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one
- Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one
- If you miss doses often, discuss a reminder plan with your doctor
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children
