Uses and Benefits of ALPHACEPT 4MG CAPSULE (SILODOSIN 4MG)

Silodosin 4mg is mainly used to treat the urinary symptoms that occur due to an enlarged prostate gland in men.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Difficulty in starting urination
• Weak or interrupted urine flow
• Frequent urge to urinate, especially at night
• Feeling of incomplete emptying of the bladder
• Overall relief of urinary symptoms linked to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)

HOW IT WORKS

• It belongs to a group of medicines called alpha-1 blockers
• It relaxes the smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder neck
• This reduces resistance to urine flow, making urination easier

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It does not shrink or cure an enlarged prostate
• It does not treat prostate cancer
• It is not used for urinary tract infections
• It is not meant for use in women or children
• It does not treat erectile dysfunction

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Dizziness
• Reduced or no ejaculation (retrograde ejaculation)
• Diarrhoea
• Runny or stuffy nose
• Headache

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Low blood pressure, especially on standing up
• Fatigue
• Nausea
• Palpitations

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Fainting or severe dizziness
• Prolonged and painful erection (priapism)
• Signs of allergic reaction such as rash, itching, swelling of face or throat, or difficulty breathing
• Irregular heartbeat

How to Use ALPHACEPT 4MG CAPSULE (SILODOSIN 4MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor
• It is usually taken once daily, preferably after the same meal each day
• Swallow the tablet or capsule whole with water; do not crush or chew it
• Do not change the dose or stop the medicine without consulting your doctor, even if symptoms improve

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the usual time
• Do not take two doses together to make up for the missed one
• If you miss doses often, set a reminder or speak to your doctor about ways to remember

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
• Keep in a dry place away from moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
