Uses and Benefits of AM LAQER LOTION (AMORALFINE 5% W/V)
This medicine is used to treat fungal infections of the nails, a condition known as onychomycosis, where the nail becomes discoloured, thickened, or brittle due to fungal growth.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treating fungal infections of fingernails and toenails
- Preventing spread of nail fungal infection to other nails
- Improving the appearance of infected nails over time
HOW IT WORKS
- It penetrates the nail plate and reaches the site of infection
- It damages the fungal cell membrane, stopping the fungus from growing and multiplying
- Regular use over several months allows a healthy new nail to grow while the infected part is filed away
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Fungal infections of the skin, scalp, or mouth
- Bacterial or viral nail infections
- Ingrown toenails or nail injuries not caused by fungus
- Immediate relief of pain or swelling around the nail

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Mild burning or stinging near the applied nail
- Redness or itching around the nail area
- Temporary discolouration of the nail

- Dryness or brittleness of the nail

- Slight change in nail texture
SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Severe redness, swelling, or blistering around the nail
- Signs of an allergic reaction such as rash, itching, or swelling of the face and lips
- Severe pain or pus formation around the treated nail
- Difficulty breathing or feeling unwell after application

How to Use AM LAQER LOTION (AMORALFINE 5% W/V)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Use only on the skin/nail as directed by your doctor, not to be swallowed
- Clean and dry the affected nail before application
- File the surface of the infected nail gently before applying, as instructed
- Apply a thin, even layer of the lacquer over the entire nail surface
- Allow it to dry completely before covering with socks or shoes
- Use it regularly, usually once or twice a week, for the full duration advised by your doctor, which may be several months
- Avoid nail polish or artificial nails on treated nails unless approved by your doctor
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Apply it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next application, skip the missed one and continue as scheduled
- Do not apply extra to make up for a missed dose
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep the bottle tightly closed after use
- Keep out of reach of children and pets
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
