This medicine is mainly used to prevent and manage angina (chest pain) in people with coronary artery disease.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Prevention of angina (chest pain) attacks
• Long-term management of coronary artery disease along with other heart medicines
• Reducing frequency of chest pain episodes in patients with stable angina

HOW IT WORKS

• Relaxes and widens blood vessels, especially veins
• Reduces the workload on the heart by decreasing the amount of blood returning to it
• Improves blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart muscle
• Helps prevent chest pain triggered by exertion or stress

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used to treat a sudden, ongoing heart attack
• Not a rescue medicine for immediate relief of acute chest pain (sublingual nitroglycerin is used for that)
• Not used for high blood pressure treatment alone
• Not used for erectile dysfunction and should never be combined with medicines for it
• Not a substitute for emergency care in case of severe chest pain

HOW TO TAKE IT

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
