This medicine is mainly used to prevent and manage angina (chest pain) in people with coronary artery disease.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Prevention of angina (chest pain) attacks
- Long-term management of coronary artery disease along with other heart medicines
- Reducing frequency of chest pain episodes in patients with stable angina
HOW IT WORKS
- Relaxes and widens blood vessels, especially veins
- Reduces the workload on the heart by decreasing the amount of blood returning to it
- Improves blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart muscle
- Helps prevent chest pain triggered by exertion or stress
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used to treat a sudden, ongoing heart attack
- Not a rescue medicine for immediate relief of acute chest pain (sublingual nitroglycerin is used for that)
- Not used for high blood pressure treatment alone
- Not used for erectile dysfunction and should never be combined with medicines for it
- Not a substitute for emergency care in case of severe chest pain

HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once or as directed

- Take at the same time each day to maintain steady effect
- Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this can worsen chest pain

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
