Propranolol Hydrochloride 40mg belongs to a group of medicines called beta-blockers and is prescribed for several heart and circulatory conditions as well as some other uses.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- Chest pain due to angina
- Irregular heartbeat (certain arrhythmias)
- Prevention of migraine headaches
- Reducing physical symptoms of anxiety, such as shaking or a racing heart
- Essential tremor
- Prevention of further heart attacks in people who have already had one
- Managing symptoms of an overactive thyroid gland, along with other treatment
HOW IT WORKS
- It blocks the action of certain stress hormones like adrenaline on the heart and blood vessels
- This slows the heart rate and reduces the force of heart contraction
- It also reduces blood pressure and eases strain on the heart
- This lowers the demand for oxygen by the heart muscle, helping relieve angina and prevent further problems
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
