Uses and Benefits of BRINOLAR EYE DROP (BRINZOLAMIDE 1% W/V)
Brinzolamide eye drops are used mainly to treat raised pressure inside the eye.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treatment of ocular hypertension (high pressure inside the eye)
- Treatment of open-angle glaucoma
- Used alone or along with other eye pressure-lowering drops
HOW IT WORKS
- It blocks an enzyme called carbonic anhydrase in the eye
- This reduces the production of fluid (aqueous humour) inside the eye
- Lowering this fluid reduces pressure inside the eye and protects the optic nerve
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for treating eye infections
- Not used for allergic conjunctivitis or red eye due to allergy
- Not a painkiller and does not treat eye injury or dryness
- Not meant for sudden vision loss or eye emergencies without doctor evaluation

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Blurred vision immediately after applying drops
- Bitter or unusual taste in the mouth
- Mild eye irritation, stinging or burning
- Watery eyes
LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Dry eyes
- Redness of the eye
- Headache
- Sensitivity to light
SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Severe eye pain or sudden vision changes
- Signs of allergic reaction such as swelling of face, lips, or difficulty breathing
- Severe skin rash or blistering
- Persistent eye redness, discharge, or swelling of eyelids

How to Use BRINOLAR EYE DROP (BRINZOLAMIDE 1% W/V)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Wash your hands before using the drops
- Tilt your head back and pull down the lower eyelid to form a small pocket
- Place the prescribed number of drops into the pocket without touching the dropper tip to your eye
- Close your eyes gently for a minute and press lightly at the inner corner of the eye
- Use only in the eye(s) as advised by your doctor
- If using other eye drops together, wait at least 5-10 minutes between different drops
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
- Do not apply extra drops to make up for a missed dose
STORAGE
- Store as directed on the label, usually at room temperature away from heat and direct sunlight
- Keep the bottle tightly closed
- Keep out of reach of children
- Discard the bottle after the recommended period of opening, as mentioned on the label
