Uses and Benefits of BUDETROL 400 Rotocap (Budesonide 400mcg + Fumarate 6mcg)
This medicine is used to treat and prevent symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), two long-term breathing conditions that cause narrowing and inflammation of the airways.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Long-term control of asthma symptoms such as wheezing, breathlessness and chest tightness
- Maintenance treatment of COPD
- Preventing flare-ups (exacerbations) of asthma or COPD
HOW IT WORKS
- Budesonide is a corticosteroid that reduces swelling and inflammation in the airways
- Formoterol is a long-acting bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles around the airways, keeping them open longer
- Together they help you breathe more easily and reduce the frequency of attacks
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for sudden, severe breathlessness or an acute asthma attack (a fast-acting reliever inhaler is needed for that)
- Not a cure for asthma or COPD, only controls symptoms
- Not meant for other respiratory infections like common cold or plain cough without airway narrowing
