WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Ringworm infections of the skin (tinea)
• Athlete's foot (tinea pedis)
• Jock itch (tinea cruris)
• Fungal nail infections (onychomycosis) when used as a lacquer
• Certain yeast infections of the skin caused by Candida
• Seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp (in shampoo form)

HOW IT WORKS

• Ciclopirox interferes with the transport of essential nutrients inside fungal cells
• This stops the fungus from growing and multiplying
• It also has some action against bacteria and inflammation, which helps reduce redness and itching

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for viral infections such as cold sores or warts
• Not effective against bacterial skin infections

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Wash your hands after application unless the hands are the area being treated
• Continue using for the full duration advised by your doctor, even if symptoms improve early

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Apply it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next application, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not apply extra to make up for a missed dose
