Verapamil is mainly used to treat high blood pressure, chest pain (angina), and abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias).
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Controlling high blood pressure
- Preventing and treating angina (chest pain due to reduced blood flow to the heart)
- Controlling certain fast or irregular heartbeats, such as supraventricular tachycardia
- Sometimes used to prevent migraine headaches, as advised by a doctor
HOW IT WORKS
- Blocks calcium channels in the heart and blood vessel walls
- Relaxes and widens blood vessels, lowering blood pressure
- Slows the electrical signals in the heart, reducing heart rate and easing chest pain
- Reduces the heart's workload and oxygen demand

HOW TO TAKE IT
