This combination is mainly used to treat vaginal infections that involve both fungal and bacterial causes at the same time.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Mixed vaginal infections caused by fungus (like Candida) and bacteria
• Bacterial vaginosis with associated fungal infection
• Vaginal itching, discharge, and irritation caused by these infections

HOW IT WORKS

• Clotrimazole is an antifungal that damages the fungal cell membrane and stops fungus from growing
• Clindamycin is an antibiotic that stops bacteria from multiplying by blocking their protein production
• Together they treat both fungal and bacterial causes of vaginal infection in one preparation

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for oral, skin, or nail fungal infections
• Not used for sexually transmitted infections unless specifically advised by a doctor
• Not a contraceptive and does not prevent pregnancy
• Not for use in men

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Severe vaginal swelling, blistering, or rash
• Signs of allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, facial swelling, or hives
• Severe watery or bloody diarrhoea (may indicate a serious bowel condition linked to clindamycin)
• Unusual abdominal pain or cramping

How to Use CANSOFT CL Capsules (CLOTRIMAZOLE 200MG+CLINDAMYCIN 100MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Use only as directed by your doctor, usually once daily at bedtime
• Wash your hands before and after use
• Insert the tablet or apply the cream deep into the vagina using the applicator provided
• Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early
• Avoid sexual intercourse during the treatment period unless your doctor advises otherwise
• Avoid using tampons while on this treatment

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Apply or insert it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as scheduled
• Do not use a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Keep the applicator clean and dry between uses

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to clotrimazole, clindamycin, or lincomycin-type antibiotics
• Have a history of severe bowel disease linked to antibiotics (like colitis)
• Have not been diagnosed with a vaginal infection by a doctor

TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have a history of liver or kidney disease
• Have recurrent or persistent vaginal infections
• Are using other vaginal medicines or contraceptive devices like a diaphragm or condom (this medicine may weaken latex)

MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT

• Other vaginal antifungal or antibacterial products used at the same time
• Muscle relaxants (clindamycin may enhance their effect)
• Latex-based contraceptives such as condoms or diaphragms, which may become less effective
