This combination medicine is mainly used to treat high blood pressure in patients who need more than one medicine to control it.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Used when a single blood pressure medicine is not enough to control levels
• May be used to reduce strain on the heart in some patients, as decided by the doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Ramipril blocks an enzyme (ACE) that narrows blood vessels, allowing them to relax and widen
• Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that helps the kidneys remove excess salt and water, lowering blood volume
• Together, they lower blood pressure more effectively than either alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for immediate emergency lowering of dangerously high blood pressure
• Not a painkiller or fever medicine

• Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
• Signs of very low sodium or potassium levels such as severe weakness, confusion, muscle cramps
• Little or no urine output
• Severe skin reactions with blistering or peeling

How to Use CARDACE H 10 TABLET (Ramipril 10mg + Hctz 12.5mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Try to take it at the same time each day, generally in the morning
• Can be taken with or without food, unless your doctor advises otherwise
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless instructed
• Do not stop taking it suddenly without talking to your doctor, even if you feel well
• Continue regular blood pressure checks as advised

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in the original packaging until it is time to take it
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Have severe liver disease

• Lithium
