This medicine is mainly used to treat high blood pressure that is not adequately controlled by a single medicine alone.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treating high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Used when blood pressure needs two medicines to be controlled
• Sometimes used to help protect the heart and kidneys in people with high blood pressure

HOW IT WORKS

• Ramipril relaxes and widens blood vessels by blocking a hormone (angiotensin) that narrows them
• Hydrochlorothiazide helps the kidneys remove excess salt and water from the body, reducing fluid volume
• Together they lower blood pressure more effectively than either alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Swallow the tablet with water, with or without food, at the same time each day
• Do not crush or chew unless your doctor tells you to
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as blood pressure control needs continuous treatment
• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in the original packaging until ready to use
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are pregnant or planning pregnancy
• Are breastfeeding
• Have a known allergy to Ramipril, Hydrochlorothiazide, sulfonamide drugs, or other ACE inhibitors

• Have severe kidney disease or are on dialysis
• Have severe liver disease or gout that is untreated

• Lithium
