Uses and Benefits of CLAMP DROP (AMOXYCILLIN 80MG + CLAVULANIC ACID 11.4MG)
This medicine combination is prescribed to treat bacterial infections affecting different parts of the body.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Respiratory tract infections such as sinusitis, throat infection, and bronchitis
- Ear infections

- Infections after certain surgeries, as advised by the doctor
HOW IT WORKS
- Amoxycillin belongs to the penicillin group of antibiotics and works by stopping bacteria from building their protective cell wall, which kills them
- Some bacteria produce an enzyme that destroys amoxycillin before it can act
- Clavulanic acid blocks this enzyme, protecting amoxycillin and allowing it to work against a broader range of bacteria
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Viral infections such as common cold, flu, or most sore throats
- Infections known to be resistant to this antibiotic combination
- As a general painkiller or fever reducer
- Prevention of infection without a doctor's advice
Always complete the full course as directed, even if symptoms improve early, to prevent antibiotic resistance.
