Uses and Benefits of CLEARZ CREAM (HYDROQUINONE 2% W/W + TRETINOIN 0.025% W/W + FLUOCINOLONE ACETONIDE 0.01% W/W)
This combination cream is mainly used for the treatment of melasma, a common skin condition causing dark, brownish patches on the face.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treatment of moderate to severe melasma on the face
- Short-term use to lighten dark patches caused by sun exposure, hormones or pregnancy
HOW IT WORKS
- Hydroquinone reduces the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for dark patches
- Tretinoin increases skin cell turnover, helping to fade pigmentation faster and improve penetration of hydroquinone
- Fluocinolone Acetonide is a mild steroid that reduces skin irritation caused by the other two ingredients
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not for treating acne, though tretinoin alone is used for acne
- Not for treating other types of pigmentation such as freckles or age spots without doctor's advice
- Not for long-term daily use beyond the prescribed duration
- Not to be used on broken, sunburnt or infected skin

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Redness or burning sensation at the application site
- Dryness and peeling of skin
- Mild itching
- Skin sensitivity to sunlight
LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Thinning of skin with prolonged use
- Visible small blood vessels on skin
- Darkening or lightening of skin beyond treated area
- Acne-like breakouts
SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Severe blistering, oozing or swelling of skin
- Signs of allergic reaction such as rash, itching, swelling of face or difficulty breathing
- Severe burning or pain that does not improve
- Unusual dark or blue-black discoloration of skin (ochronosis)

How to Use CLEARZ CREAM (HYDROQUINONE 2% W/W + TRETINOIN 0.025% W/W + FLUOCINOLONE ACETONIDE 0.01% W/W)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- For external use only, apply on skin as directed by your doctor
- Usually applied once daily at night on clean, dry skin
- Apply a thin layer only to the affected area, avoiding eyes, lips and mucous membranes
- Wash hands thoroughly after application
- Use sunscreen and avoid sun exposure during treatment, as this medicine increases skin sensitivity to sunlight
- Do not use more than the prescribed amount or apply more frequently, as this can worsen irritation
- Do not use for longer than the duration advised by your doctor
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Apply as soon as you remember, but skip if it is almost time for the next application
- Do not apply extra to make up for a missed dose

- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat
- Keep the tube tightly closed
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

- Are using other steroid-based creams

- Other topical retinoids or exfoliating agents, which can increase irritation
- Other topical steroids, which may increase risk of skin thinning
- Sulfur, resorcinol or other skin-peeling agents
