This medicine combination is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, along with a proper diet and exercise plan.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Controlling high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes
• Used when diet and exercise alone are not enough
• Sometimes used along with other diabetes medicines like metformin

HOW IT WORKS

• Dapagliflozin blocks sugar reabsorption in the kidneys, allowing extra sugar to leave the body through urine

• Severe dehydration or low blood pressure with dizziness or fainting
• Severe urinary tract or genital infection with fever
• Signs of pancreatitis such as severe stomach pain spreading to the back, with vomiting
• Signs of a serious allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, lips, throat, or difficulty breathing
• Symptoms of low blood sugar such as sweating, shakiness, confusion, if combined with other diabetes medicines

How to Use DAPAVEL-L 10/5MG Tablets (Dapagliflozin 10mg + Linagliptin 5mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Can be taken with or without food, at the same time each day
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as diabetes needs long-term control
• Keep taking your prescribed diet and exercise routine along with this medicine

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep the strip in its original packaging until use
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to dapagliflozin, linagliptin, or any other ingredient in the tablet
• Have type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis
• Have severe kidney disease or are on dialysis
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless your doctor says it is safe

TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU

• Have any kidney or liver problems
• Have a history of urinary tract or genital infections
• Have a history of pancreatitis
• Are prone to dehydration or low blood pressure
• Are scheduled for surgery or have had a recent illness with vomiting or diarrhoea
• Are taking other diabetes medicines, including insulin

MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT

• Other diabetes medicines like insulin or sulfonylureas, which increase risk of low blood sugar
• Diuretics (water pills), which can increase dehydration risk
• Certain blood pressure medicines
