Uses and Benefits of DELETUS-PEARLS TABLET (PHENYLEPHRINE (5MG) + CHLORPHENIRAMINE MALEATE (2MG) + DEXTROMETHORPHAN HYDROBROMIDE (10MG))

This combination medicine is mainly used to treat symptoms of common cold, allergic rhinitis and dry cough that occur together.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Relief of blocked or stuffy nose
• Relief of runny nose and sneezing
• Relief of dry, irritating cough
• Symptomatic relief during common cold or flu

HOW IT WORKS

• Phenylephrine narrows swollen blood vessels in the nose, reducing congestion
• Chlorpheniramine Maleate blocks histamine, reducing sneezing, watery eyes and runny nose
• Dextromethorphan acts on the brain's cough centre to reduce the urge to cough

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for wet or productive cough with thick mucus
• Not used for bacterial infections such as sinusitis or pneumonia
• Not a cure for the common cold, only relieves symptoms
• Not meant for long-term regular use

This medicine only provides symptomatic relief and does not treat the underlying cause of infection.

• Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips or throat
• Confusion, hallucinations or fits

How to Use DELETUS-PEARLS TABLET (PHENYLEPHRINE (5MG) + CHLORPHENIRAMINE MALEATE (2MG) + DEXTROMETHORPHAN HYDROBROMIDE (10MG))

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor or as per the label
• Can be taken with or without food, but taking with food may reduce stomach upset
• Swallow tablets with a glass of water; if using syrup, use the measuring cup provided
• Do not increase the dose or take it more often than advised
• Avoid taking other cold or cough medicines at the same time unless your doctor says so

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat, light and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Keep syrup bottle tightly closed after use

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to phenylephrine, chlorpheniramine, dextromethorphan or any other ingredient
• Have severe high blood pressure or heart disease
• Are taking or have recently taken MAO inhibitor medicines
• Have severe breathing problems like asthma exacerbation

• Have high blood pressure, heart disease or diabetes
• Have glaucoma or difficulty passing urine due to enlarged prostate
• Have thyroid problems
• Are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding
