Uses and Benefits of DELTONE 60MG CAPSULE (Dexlansoprazole 60mg)
Dexlansoprazole 60mg is mainly used to treat conditions caused by excess stomach acid, particularly gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and related acid reflux disorders.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treating GERD and its symptoms such as heartburn
- Healing of erosive esophagitis (inflammation of the food pipe caused by acid)
- Maintaining healing of erosive esophagitis and preventing symptoms from returning
- Relieving persistent heartburn occurring more than twice a week
HOW IT WORKS
- It blocks the acid-producing pumps in the stomach lining
- This reduces the total amount of acid produced
- Lower acid levels help heal the esophagus and relieve symptoms like burning and regurgitation
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not a painkiller and does not treat general stomach pain unrelated to acid
- It is not meant for immediate relief of sudden heartburn (it is not a fast-acting antacid)
- It is not used to treat infections, including H. pylori, unless combined with other specific medicines as prescribed
