Uses and Benefits of DEZLORID 5MG TABLET (Desloratadine 10mg)

Desloratadine 10mg is used to treat allergic conditions caused by an overactive immune response to allergens.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose, and nasal congestion
• Relief of itchy, watery, red eyes caused by allergies
• Treatment of chronic urticaria (long-lasting hives) with itching and skin rash
• Reducing allergic skin reactions such as swelling and redness

HOW IT WORKS

• Blocks histamine H1 receptors in the body
• Prevents histamine from causing allergic symptoms like itching, swelling and redness
• Provides relief for about 24 hours, allowing once-daily dosing

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used to treat bacterial or viral infections
• Not a treatment for asthma or breathing difficulty on its own
• Not meant for immediate relief of a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) — emergency treatment is needed for that
• Not a painkiller or fever reducer

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Headache
• Dry mouth
• Fatigue or tiredness

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water
• Do not increase the dose or frequency without consulting your doctor
• Continue taking it for as long as your doctor recommends, even if symptoms improve

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your regular schedule
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Keep in the original packaging until ready to use
