Ethamsylate is mainly used to control bleeding related to weak or leaking small blood vessels.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia)
• Bleeding after surgery, including dental and ENT procedures
• Bleeding from small blood vessels during minor surgical procedures
• Nosebleeds caused by fragile capillaries
• Bleeding in certain blood disorders affecting capillaries

HOW IT WORKS

• It helps the capillary walls become stronger and less leaky
• It helps platelets stick together better at the site of bleeding
• It does not affect the normal blood clotting (coagulation) system
• It works specifically on the smallest blood vessels, not larger arteries or veins

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not used to treat bleeding from major blood vessels or large wounds
