Uses and Benefits of DOLAMIDE TABLET (NIMESULIDE + PARACETAMOL)

This combination medicine is mainly used to relieve pain and reduce fever in adults.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Relief of mild to moderate pain such as headache, backache, toothache and joint pain
• Reduction of fever
• Relief of menstrual cramps
• Pain relief after minor surgical or dental procedures

HOW IT WORKS

• Nimesulide reduces the production of certain chemicals in the body that cause pain, swelling and fever
• Paracetamol acts on the brain's temperature-regulating centre and reduces the sensation of pain
• Together they provide faster and more effective relief than either medicine alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Long-term or chronic pain management
• Treatment of the underlying cause of pain or infection
• Children below 12 years, unless specifically advised by a doctor
• Routine or preventive use without medical need

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Nausea
• Heartburn or stomach discomfort
• Dizziness
• Drowsiness

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Diarrhoea or constipation
• Skin rash or itching
• Sweating
• Mild swelling of feet

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
• Dark urine or unusual tiredness suggesting liver problems
• Black stools or vomiting blood
• Severe skin rash, blistering or peeling of skin
• Difficulty breathing, swelling of face or throat (allergic reaction)
• Very low urine output

How to Use DOLAMIDE TABLET (NIMESULIDE + PARACETAMOL)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually after food to reduce stomach upset
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not take for longer than the duration prescribed by your doctor
• Do not take more than the recommended dose even if pain or fever persists
• Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Dispose of unused medicine safely, do not flush down the drain

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to nimesulide, paracetamol or any other NSAID
• Have active liver disease or a history of liver damage
• Have active stomach or intestinal ulcers or bleeding
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless advised by a doctor
• Are below 12 years of age
• Have severe kidney disease

• Have a history of liver or kidney problems
• Have high blood pressure or heart disease
• Have asthma or a history of allergic reactions to painkillers
• Are taking blood thinners or other regular medicines
• Consume alcohol regularly

MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT

• Blood thinners such as warfarin
• Other NSAIDs or painkillers, including aspirin
• Medicines for high blood pressure or diuretics
• Lithium and methotrexate
• Other paracetamol-containing products, to avoid overdose
