Uses and Benefits of DORZOX T EYE DROP (Dorzolamide 2% + Timolol 0.5% + Benzalkonium 0.0075%)

This medicine is mainly used to treat increased pressure inside the eye, a condition seen in glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Lowering high pressure inside the eye (intraocular pressure)
• Managing open-angle glaucoma
• Managing ocular hypertension
• Used when a single eye drop medicine is not enough to control eye pressure

HOW IT WORKS

• Dorzolamide reduces production of the fluid (aqueous humour) inside the eye
• Timolol, a beta-blocker, also reduces fluid production inside the eye
• Together they lower eye pressure more than either alone
• Benzalkonium chloride acts as a preservative to keep the drops free from contamination

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for red eye due to infection or allergy
• Not used for dry eyes
• Not a treatment for cataract
• Not meant for sudden eye injury or pain relief
• Not used to correct vision problems like myopia or hypermetropia

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Burning or stinging in the eye after applying
• Blurred vision for a short time
• Bitter or unusual taste in mouth
• Eye redness or itching
• Watery eyes

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Dry eyes
• Headache
• Sensitivity to light
• Eyelid swelling or crusting
• Feeling tired

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Severe eye pain, swelling or vision loss
• Signs of allergic reaction such as rash, swelling of face, lips or throat
• Difficulty breathing or wheezing
• Slow or irregular heartbeat, chest pain, or fainting
• Severe dizziness or fatigue

How to Use DORZOX T EYE DROP (Dorzolamide 2% + Timolol 0.5% + Benzalkonium 0.0075%)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Use only in the eye(s) as advised by your doctor
• Wash your hands before using the drops
• Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid and place one drop inside
• Avoid touching the dropper tip to your eye or any surface
• Close your eye gently for a minute after applying and press lightly near the inner corner
• If using other eye drops, wait at least 5 to 10 minutes between different drops
• Do not stop using suddenly without asking your doctor, even if your eyes feel fine

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Apply it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not apply two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store as directed on the pack, usually below 25°C, away from direct sunlight
• Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use
• Do not use after the printed expiry date or after the recommended period from opening
• Keep out of reach of children

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to Dorzolamide, Timolol, sulfonamide medicines, or any other ingredient in the drops
• Have severe asthma or chronic obstructive lung disease
• Have a slow heart rate, heart block, or severe heart failure
• Have severe kidney disease

• Wear contact lenses
• Have diabetes, as it may mask low blood sugar symptoms

Can I use this medicine with contact lenses?

Remove your contact lenses before applying the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back, as the preservative may affect the lenses.

How long does it take to work?

Eye pressure reduction usually starts within a few hours, but regular use as prescribed is needed for the full effect and long-term control.

Can I stop using this once my eye pressure feels normal?
