This medicine is used to treat various bacterial infections where a combination of two antibiotics is considered necessary for effective treatment.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia
• Urinary tract infections
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Ear, nose and throat infections
• Other infections as diagnosed by your doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Cefpodoxime is a cephalosporin antibiotic that stops bacteria from building their protective cell wall, causing them to die
• Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that blocks enzymes bacteria need to copy their DNA, stopping them from multiplying
• Together they act against a wider range of bacteria than either medicine alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Viral infections such as common cold, flu, or most sore throats
• Fungal infections
• As a general painkiller or fever medicine
• Without a doctor's prescription and proper diagnosis of a bacterial infection

• Tendon pain, swelling, or sudden difficulty moving a joint
• Yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine (signs of liver problems)
• Unusual heartbeat, fainting, or chest pain
• Seizures or severe confusion

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with or after food to reduce stomach upset
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Complete the full course even if you feel better before finishing it
• Take doses at evenly spaced times as instructed
• Drink plenty of water while on this medicine

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
• Keep in a dry place, away from moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to cefpodoxime, ofloxacin, or other cephalosporin or fluoroquinolone antibiotics
• Have a history of tendon problems linked to fluoroquinolone use
• Are a child or growing adolescent, unless specifically advised by a doctor
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless your doctor decides it is necessary
