This combination medicine is mainly used for the long-term control of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Regular maintenance treatment of asthma in adults and adolescents
• Long-term management of COPD to reduce flare-ups
• Reducing frequency of breathlessness, wheezing and chest tightness

HOW IT WORKS

• Beclometasone is a corticosteroid that reduces swelling and inflammation in the airways
• Formoterol is a long-acting bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles around the airways, keeping them open for a longer duration
• Together they help improve breathing and reduce the number of asthma or COPD attacks over time

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not for immediate relief of a sudden asthma attack or acute breathlessness
• Not a rescue inhaler; a fast-acting reliever inhaler should be used for emergencies
• Not recommended for children unless specifically advised by a pediatric specialist
• Not used for infections of the lungs or common cold-related cough

• Blurred vision or eye pain (possible signs of glaucoma with long-term steroid use)
• Signs of low potassium such as severe weakness or muscle cramps

How to Use DUOMATE TRANSCAPS (BECLOMETASONE 200MCG + FORMOTEROL 6MCG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Use only by inhalation, through the mouth, using the inhaler device provided
• Take at the same time(s) each day as advised by your doctor
• Shake the inhaler well before use, if required by the device type
• Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after each use to reduce risk of oral thrush and hoarseness
• Do not stop using it suddenly even if you feel better; asthma/COPD control needs regular use
• Do not use more than the prescribed number of puffs

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep the inhaler cap on when not in use
• Do not puncture, break or burn the canister
• Keep out of reach of children
• Check the expiry date and dose counter regularly

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
