Uses and Benefits of DUTALFA CAPSULE (ALFUZOSIN 10MG + DUTASTERIDE 0.5MG)

This combination medicine is mainly prescribed for men suffering from benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate) and the urinary problems that come with it.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Difficulty in starting urination
• Weak or interrupted urine stream
• Frequent urination, especially at night
• Feeling of incomplete bladder emptying
• Long-term management of enlarged prostate

HOW IT WORKS

• Alfuzosin relaxes the smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, allowing easier urine flow
• Dutasteride blocks the enzyme that converts testosterone into a hormone responsible for prostate enlargement
• Together they relieve symptoms quickly (alfuzosin) and shrink the prostate over months (dutasteride)
• Combination therapy reduces the risk of BPH getting worse over time

• Not used for prostate cancer treatment

• Yellowing of skin or eyes (signs of liver problem)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor

• Swallow the tablet or capsule whole with water; do not crush, chew, or open it
• Do not stop the medicine suddenly even if symptoms improve, unless your doctor advises
• It may take several weeks to months for the full benefit to appear

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one
• Try to take your dose at the same time daily to avoid missing it

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
