Dasatinib is used to treat certain types of blood cancer.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) in chronic, accelerated, or blast phase
• Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL) that has not responded to other treatments

HOW IT WORKS

• Dasatinib blocks abnormal proteins (tyrosine kinases, including BCR-ABL) produced by cancer cells
• This action slows or stops the growth and spread of leukemia cells
• It belongs to a class of drugs called tyrosine kinase inhibitors

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not used for common infections or general fever
• It is not a painkiller or an antibiotic
• It should not be used for cancers other than those specifically prescribed by your oncologist
• It is not a first-line treatment for every leukemia patient; use depends on genetic testing and disease stage

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Headache

How to Use DYRONIB 50MG TABLET (DASATINIB 50MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take dasatinib exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush, split, or chew it
• Can be taken with or without food, but be consistent with your chosen routine
• Avoid grapefruit or grapefruit juice unless your doctor says it is safe
• Do not stop or change the dose without consulting your doctor, even if you feel well

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
