Torsemide is used to treat fluid retention (oedema) and to help manage high blood pressure.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Fluid build-up due to heart failure
• Fluid build-up due to liver disease (cirrhosis)
• Fluid build-up due to kidney disease
• High blood pressure, when advised by your doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• It acts on the kidneys to increase the amount of salt and water passed out in urine
• This reduces the extra fluid in the body, easing swelling and breathlessness
• Removing excess fluid also helps lower blood pressure

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not a painkiller or fever medicine
• It does not treat infections
• It is not meant for casual or occasional use to lose water weight without medical need
• It is not a first-choice treatment for mild, short-term swelling unless advised by a doctor

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Increased urination
• Dizziness or light-headedness

How to Use DYTOR 100MG TABLET (TORSEMIDE 100MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day in the morning
• It can be taken with or without food
• Try to take it at the same time each day to maintain a routine
• Do not take it late in the evening, as it may cause you to wake up at night to urinate
• Do not stop taking it suddenly without talking to your doctor, even if you feel better
• Your doctor may ask you to monitor your weight, blood pressure, or blood tests regularly while on this medicine

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is already close to your next dose or late in the day, skip the missed dose
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

• Keep out of reach of children

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are unable to pass urine (anuria)
• Are in a hepatic coma or severe liver failure with no urine output
• Have a known allergy to torsemide or sulfonamide-related medicines
• Are severely dehydrated or have very low blood volume
