This medicine is mainly prescribed to manage fluid retention (oedema) linked to heart failure, liver disease (cirrhosis with ascites), and kidney disorders, and is sometimes used to help control high blood pressure.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Reducing swelling in legs, abdomen and lungs due to fluid overload
• Managing fluid build-up from heart failure
• Managing ascites and swelling caused by liver disease
• Supporting treatment of high blood pressure in some patients

HOW IT WORKS

• Torsemide acts on the kidneys to increase removal of salt and water through urine
• Spironolactone blocks a hormone called aldosterone, which reduces potassium loss and adds mild fluid-removing action
• Together they give effective fluid control while balancing potassium levels

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for simple, occasional swelling of feet after long travel
• Not a painkiller or treatment for infections
• Not meant for weight loss purposes
• Not to be self-started without a doctor's diagnosis of the underlying condition

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

How to Use DYTOR PLUS 5MG TABLET (Torsemide 5mg + Spironolactone 50mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily in the morning
• Can be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time each day
• Avoid taking it late in the evening as it may disturb sleep due to increased urination
• Do not increase or stop the dose on your own, even if you feel better
• Continue regular blood tests for kidney function and electrolytes as advised

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to torsemide, spironolactone, or sulfa-related drugs

• Have Addison's disease or high blood potassium levels
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless specifically advised by your doctor
