Ebastine (20mg) is used to treat allergic conditions caused by histamine release in the body.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny or blocked nose, itchy or watery eyes) caused by pollen, dust, or other allergens
• Chronic urticaria (long-lasting hives) with itching and skin rash
• Seasonal and year-round allergy symptoms

HOW IT WORKS

• Blocks histamine H1 receptors in the body
• Histamine is a chemical released during allergic reactions that causes itching, swelling, and redness
• By blocking its action, this medicine reduces allergy symptoms
• It is a non-sedating (or low-sedating) antihistamine, so it is less likely to cause drowsiness compared to older antihistamines

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor

• Try to take it at the same time each day for best results

• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
