This medicine is mainly used to treat and prevent iron and folic acid deficiency anaemia, a condition where the body lacks enough healthy red blood cells due to low iron and folate levels.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treatment of iron deficiency anaemia
- Prevention of anaemia during pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Correcting nutritional deficiencies due to poor diet or blood loss
- Support during recovery from surgery or chronic illness with anaemia
HOW IT WORKS
- Sodium Feredetate provides iron needed to make haemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen
- Folic acid helps the body produce and mature new red blood cells
- Together they help correct anaemia and improve energy levels and overall blood health
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for anaemia caused by vitamin B12 deficiency alone
- Not a treatment for infections or general fatigue unrelated to anaemia

HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor
- Usually taken after meals to reduce stomach irritation
- Swallow tablets whole with a glass of water; do not chew unless advised
- Avoid taking with tea, coffee, or milk as they can reduce iron absorption
- Take at the same time each day for best results
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
- If you miss doses often, inform your doctor
