Uses and Benefits of FAMOCID 40MG TABLET (FAMOTIDINE 40MG.)

Famotidine 40mg is mainly used to treat conditions caused by excess stomach acid.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treating stomach ulcers and duodenal ulcers
• Managing gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and heartburn
• Relieving acidity and indigestion
• Preventing ulcers caused by certain conditions like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
• Helping heal erosive esophagitis

HOW IT WORKS

• Blocks histamine H2 receptors in the stomach lining
• Reduces the amount of acid the stomach produces
• Lowers acid levels to allow healing of the food pipe and stomach lining
• Provides relief from acid-related discomfort such as burning and pain

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for general pain relief or fever
• Not a treatment for bacterial infections such as H. pylori (used alongside other medicines if needed)

• Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
• Irregular or fast heartbeat
• Severe skin reaction with blistering or peeling
• Confusion, especially in elderly or those with kidney problems
• Signs of infection such as unexplained fever or sore throat

How to Use FAMOCID 40MG TABLET (FAMOTIDINE 40MG.)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water
• Do not crush or chew unless your doctor or pharmacist advises so
• Try to take it at the same time each day for best effect
• Continue taking it for the full duration advised, even if you feel better

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
• If you miss doses often, set a reminder or consult your doctor

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Do not store in the bathroom or near a sink

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
