This combination is used to treat mixed dyslipidaemia, a condition in which both LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglyceride levels are raised in the blood, increasing the risk of heart disease.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Lowering high LDL cholesterol
• Lowering high triglyceride levels
• Raising HDL (good) cholesterol in some patients
• Reducing risk of heart-related complications in people with mixed dyslipidaemia

HOW IT WORKS

• Atorvastatin blocks an enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) in the liver that makes cholesterol, lowering LDL cholesterol
• Fenofibrate activates a receptor (PPAR-alpha) that helps break down fats, lowering triglycerides and raising HDL
• Together they help correct multiple lipid abnormalities at once

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day

• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless told to
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, since cholesterol control needs long-term use
• Follow a low-fat diet and regular exercise as advised alongside this medicine

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
