This combination medicine is used to treat mixed dyslipidemia, a condition where a person has both high cholesterol and high triglyceride levels in the blood, increasing the risk of heart disease.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• To lower high LDL (bad) cholesterol
• To lower high triglyceride levels
• To raise HDL (good) cholesterol
• To reduce risk of heart-related problems in people with mixed lipid disorders

HOW IT WORKS

• Atorvastatin blocks an enzyme in the liver that makes cholesterol, reducing LDL production
• Fenofibrate acts on fat metabolism to reduce triglycerides and increase HDL
• Together they give more complete control of blood lipid levels

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for immediate relief of chest pain or heart attack
• Not a treatment for high blood pressure

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Severe unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness (sign of muscle breakdown)
• Dark coloured urine
• Yellowing of skin or eyes, severe stomach pain (sign of liver or gallbladder problem)
• Signs of allergic reaction such as swelling of face, lips, throat or difficulty breathing
• Unusual bleeding or bruising

How to Use FIBATOR LS TABLET (ATORVASTATIN 10MG + FENOFIBRATE 72.5MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Swallow the tablet whole with water
• Take it with or after food unless your doctor tells you otherwise
• Try to take it at the same time each day for best results
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as cholesterol control needs long-term use
• Do not stop the medicine on your own without consulting your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep the strip in its original pack until ready to use
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Have active liver disease or unexplained persistent liver enzyme elevation
• Have severe kidney disease
• Have gallbladder disease
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Are allergic to atorvastatin, fenofibrate, or any other ingredient in this medicine

TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU

• Have a history of muscle problems or muscle-related side effects with statins
• Have kidney or liver disease
• Drink alcohol regularly
• Have diabetes or thyroid problems
• Are taking other cholesterol-lowering medicines

• Other statins or fibrates
• Blood thinners such as warfarin

• Medicines for HIV
• Grapefruit juice in large amounts
