Uses and Benefits of FIBNIB 150MG CAPSULE (NINTEDANIB 150MG)
Nintedanib is used to treat conditions involving abnormal scarring of lung tissue and certain cancers where it is combined with other treatments.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a disease causing lung scarring
- Chronic fibrosing interstitial lung diseases with a progressive pattern
- Systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease
- In combination with chemotherapy for certain advanced lung cancers, as decided by your oncologist
HOW IT WORKS
- Blocks specific enzymes (tyrosine kinases) involved in blood vessel growth and tissue scarring
- Slows down the growth of new blood vessels that feed fibrotic tissue or tumours
- Helps reduce the rate of decline in lung function over time
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not a cure for lung fibrosis, only slows progression
- It is not used for common cough, cold, or infections
- It is not a first-line treatment for all types of cancer
- It should not be used without a confirmed diagnosis and specialist supervision

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Diarrhoea
- Nausea and vomiting

- Liver enzyme changes

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine (signs of liver problems)
- Severe or bloody diarrhoea leading to dehydration
- Chest pain, sudden shortness of breath (possible blood clot or heart problem)
- Signs of bleeding such as blood in vomit, stool, or unusual bruising
- Severe stomach pain (possible bowel perforation)
- Signs of allergic reaction such as swelling of face, lips, throat, or difficulty breathing

How to Use FIBNIB 150MG CAPSULE (NINTEDANIB 150MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually twice daily
- Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not chew or crush it
- Take with food, ideally at the same times each day, about 12 hours apart
- Do not stop or change the dose on your own even if you feel better
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- If you miss a dose, skip it and take your next dose at the usual time
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
- If you miss several doses or are unsure, contact your doctor
STORAGE
- Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
- Keep the capsules in the original blister pack until ready to use
- Keep out of reach of children and pets
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to nintedanib, peanut, soya, or any ingredient in the capsule
- Are pregnant or planning pregnancy
- Have severe liver disease
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Have any liver or kidney disease
- Have a history of bleeding disorders or are on blood thinners
- Have recently had surgery or have wounds that are healing
- Have heart disease, high blood pressure, or history of blood clots
- Are breastfeeding
MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT
- Blood thinners such as warfarin or other anticoagulants
- P-glycoprotein inhibitors like ketoconazole or erythromycin
- P-glycoprotein inducers like rifampicin or St. John's Wort
- Other medicines affecting liver enzymes; always share your full medicine list with your doctor
