Uses and Benefits of FIGO-MS CAPSULE (FINGOLIMOD 0.5MG)
Fingolimod 0.5mg is mainly used to treat relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis in adults and certain adolescents, to reduce the number of relapses and slow worsening of disability.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treating relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis
- Reducing frequency of MS relapses
- Slowing progression of physical disability caused by MS
HOW IT WORKS
- Traps certain white blood cells (lymphocytes) inside lymph nodes
- Reduces the number of these cells entering the bloodstream and nervous system
- Lowers the immune attack on nerve coverings (myelin) in the brain and spinal cord
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for acute MS relapse treatment (steroids are used for that)
- Not a cure for multiple sclerosis
- Not used for other autoimmune conditions unless specifically advised by a specialist
- Not for general immune suppression outside MS

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Headache

- Blurred vision or eye discomfort
- Hair thinning
- Nausea
- High blood pressure

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Severe dizziness, fainting, or very slow/irregular heartbeat
- Sudden vision loss, eye pain, or blurred central vision (possible macular oedema)
- Signs of infection such as high fever, chills, or persistent illness
- Severe headache with confusion, seizures, or vision changes (rare brain condition)
- Yellowing of skin/eyes, dark urine, severe tiredness (liver problem)
- Sudden breathlessness or chest pain
- Signs of allergic reaction such as swelling of face, lips, or difficulty breathing

How to Use FIGO-MS CAPSULE (FINGOLIMOD 0.5MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
- Can be taken with or without food
- Swallow the tablet/capsule whole with water
- Your doctor may monitor your heart rate and blood pressure closely after your first dose
- Do not stop or change the dose without consulting your doctor
- Regular blood tests and eye check-ups may be advised during treatment
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- If you miss a dose for a few days or more, contact your doctor before restarting, as the first-dose monitoring may need to be repeated
- If you remember on the same day, take it as soon as possible
- Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one

- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
- Do not store in the bathroom or near a sink

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
