Ursodeoxycholic acid is mainly used for gallstone and liver conditions related to bile flow.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with food to reduce stomach upset
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Take it at the same time(s) each day for best results
• Continue treatment for the full duration advised, even if you feel well, since gallstone dissolution takes months
• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your regular schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Have calcified gallstones, acute gallbladder inflammation, or a non-functioning gallbladder
• Have severe liver disease with active liver failure, unless your doctor decides otherwise
