HOW IT WORKS

• Frusemide is a strong, fast-acting diuretic that makes the kidneys remove more salt and water, but it also causes loss of potassium
• Spironolactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic that helps the body hold on to potassium while still removing extra fluid

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily in the morning to avoid needing to urinate at night
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; it can be taken with or without food
• Do not increase or decrease the dose on your own
• Continue taking it for as long as your doctor recommends, even if you feel well
• Your doctor may ask for regular blood tests to check potassium and kidney function while you are on this medicine

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your normal schedule

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
